Handyman

Every technical difficulty is a creative opportunity.  -this is my motto.

Hands down, I’m a pretty awesome handyman.  I’m experienced with a variety of skills, and will research or figure out anything I don’t already know.  I reliably produce quality results.  Scroll down to see pictures and some discussion of past projects.  It’ll give you an idea of how I work.

(Also, I’ve been pretty bad at the documentation thing, please excuse that many projects don’t have good pictures!  And if you’ve got pictures of work I did, I’d love to get a copy of that.)

2011 Projects:

Pretty fence. Not so much the yard.

This was built to match an existing fence which had partly fallen down.

I built this fence out of pressure treated wood and redwood slats.  This picture was taken a couple of weeks after the construction, and shows how little I disturbed the yard while working.  That chair and two table-ish things set up was actually pretty nice.

Anyway, you probably noticed that the post in the middle of the three posts pictured is sticking up about six inches above where the other one is.  What’s not shown here are the two other posts to the right, they are both at the same height as the one that sticks up.  The ground is lower on the far left, so that post was shorter after being sunk into the ground the appropriate two feet.  I didn’t go back and cut all the posts to the same height because the client on this job wanted to trim costs wherever possible.  The property was a rental, so the owner, who was hiring me, just wanted something functional.  By not taking the time for little details like that, and by reusing some of the old slats, I saved the client 10% off of my initial estimate.
